How Does Psilocybin Help With PTSD?
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health disorder brought on by experiencing extreme stress or fear, and its symptoms can include:
-
Nightmares
-
Flashbacks
-
Anxiety
-
Intrusive thoughts
-
And many more
Symptoms of PTSD can resolve for many people, given enough time. However, others find that their symptoms become chronic and more debilitating due to an arrested “fear extinction process.

Psilocybin is known to help in the creation of new connections within the brain that can combat this issue by helping to:
-
Reduce fear responses
-
Process memories and emotions
-
Promote acceptance
If you are struggling with PTSD, contact Oregon Psychedelic Solutions Group today to speak with a facilitator and learn more about our Portland psilocybin experiences.

1. Prep & Orientation
With your facilitator, you will:
-
Review and complete the state-required paperwork
-
Discuss your intentions and goals
-
Receive guidance to help you choose your psilocybin dosage
This session typically takes about two hours and can be completed via Zoom.

2. Administration Session
You and your facilitator will settle into a tranquil and cozy room at a facility of your choice and you’ll receive your dose of psilocybin.
After you consume the psilocybin, you can relax to your personalized playlist with a comfortable, soothing eye mask.
The duration of this session will vary depending on your dose but is typically 5-6 hours.
3. Integration
Within a day or two, your facilitator will follow up to discuss your administration session.
Together, you will explore ways to incorporate the benefits and insights you experienced during your journey into your daily life.
